CHP Motorcycle Officer Injured
February 13, 2008 (by Otto Smyth) Tuesday at approximately 10:00 pm a California Highway Motorcycle Police Officer was injured when he was involved in a Los Angeles car accident close to Canyon Road according to reports.
It is reported that California Highway Police Officer Eric Newburg stated that the motorcycle officer who was involved in the accident was a 15-year veteran of the force.
The accident occurred when a Honda Accord that was driven by a 20 year old driver hit the motorcycle officer from behind, on Interstate 15 in Bonsall, at the time of the impact the motorcycle officer was thrown from his bike and the motorcycle continued on hitting a Toyota 4Runner.
The officer was transported from the scene with a punctured lung and broken ribs; there are no other reports of injuries in either vehicle that was involved in the accident. It was not reported to what hospital the California Highway Police motorcycle officer was taken.
According to reports the California Highway Patrol planned to close Gopher Canyon Road, Interstate 15 and Margale Lane from 1 pm to 4 pm in order to investigate the accident scene.
