Find Out About the Nissan Fire Recall
A Severe Risk of Fire for Maxima, Pathfinder, and Murano Vehicles
Nissan has been in the spotlight for the wrong reasons lately. The Japanese automaker is on the hook for a major new recall due to the risk of severe fire. Nissan’s announcement informs hundreds of thousands of drivers of a severe issue that could lead to serious injury or death.
According to Newsweek, nearly 400,000 Nissans are affected by the recall. This includes the popular Maxima, Pathfinder, and Murano lines.
These run between the 2015 and 2018 model years. In addition, the Infiniti QX60 between 2017-2019 and Pathfinder of the same year is also recalled. According to Nissan, the errors occur in the antilock brake systems of their vehicles. This is caused by an incomplete oil seal. As it wears, brake fluid could leak into other parts of the car, including the electrical system. The mixture could cause severe fires. In fact, the risk is so severe that Nissan ordered owners of these model years to park their vehicles outside.
