Safety tips for that Valentine’s Day date

If you are planning a first date on Valentine’s Day, here are some safety tips that won’t get in your way of having a good time, but can save your life.
* Don’t give a stranger too many personal details. You may want to share all the personal details of your life with the person you met over a dating site, but don’t do it. Even telling a person where you were born could give someone enough information to locate you.
* Don’t give out your number too number. After some time, you may begin to trust the person you have met over a dating website and you may feel tempted to begin texting. Don’t give out your number too soon. You phone number could be used for many other things besides calling and texting.
* Don’t post identifying information. You may be proud of your new car, your apartment house, or where your work but don’t post any photos that could someone could use to track you down.
* Avoid posting too many revealing or partying pictures. This could give the wrong idea to a person you are trying to attract.
* Meet in a public place for the first few dates and you pick the place.
* Tell people about your date. Give them some of the details such as where and when you are going out. When you expect to be back. This gives you an extra layer of protection when you go out with a stranger.
* Trust your gut instinct. Your parents may have told you about this one. If your insides are telling you that something is not right and you need to leave, do it. Hanging around someone just to make them feel better is not a risk worth taking.
